Overview

You and the other bosses have decided to team up to pull off the biggest heist this town has ever seen. As crooks rush into town eager to take part in the heist of the century, each boss tries to form the most crooked crews they can to snatch that loot - working together of course!

In reality, you’ll be scheming against the other bosses to snatch as much loot as you can! Each crook has abilities that revolve around back-stabbing, sneakiness, bluffing and denial play. The more crooks you send to a heist, the greater the chance of alerting the cops and busting the entire operation!

Emergent Design

Too Many Crooks is a collaborative, emergent design project aimed at creating an eighteen-card game with eighteen designers from around the world in just eighteen days. From rules design to card development, all aspects of the project balance individual creativity with group feedback and brainstorming. Though some changes have been made to the original design to keep language consistent and streamline gameplay, this version of the game aims to keep each designer’s contribution as intact as possible. The game is publicly available for free  under an Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) Creative Commons license. Anyone can share or adapt any aspect of the game but must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. License details can be found here:  creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ . All art is collected from comic books in the public domain.

Special thanks to the Button Shy Discord for hosting and to the following designers for all of their hard work: Corey Andalora, John Baluci, Jim Bottomley, Pablo Dapena, Aditya Dave, Manny Dominguez, Gricha German, Jason Greeno, Ian Howard, Chris Klimowski, Marceline Leiman, David Marron, Tyson Mertlich, Paul Mongreville, Aaron Snoswell, Jason Tagmire, Jamie Thul, and Jay Yeates.
